As a Type II diabetic & someone who seems to be having issues with dairy, I went looking for a quick breakfast that would be kind to my BG numbers and not trigger the horrible phlegm monster. This definitely hits that spot – mostly. Two hours after consumption of just this in the morning, I see a raise of about 40 points in my blood glucose. That’s okay for me. However, 2 hours after consumption I am hungry. So it’s a mixed review based on my particular needs. It tastes fine.

I’ve been buying Evolve Protein Shakes for years… and am just sad I didn’t find it on .com sooner because we buy so much every month and this is the best price! I have tried literally every plant based protein shake there is… and this is hands down the best. Best flavor, lowest calories for highest protein, highest quality ingredients, and does not give me tummy issues like most others do. I am gluten and dairy intolerant, but these are easy to digest with clean ingredients. My husband and I, along with our 3 teenagers go through boxes and boxes of these every month. Definitely need to drink them chilled. My kids love them mixed in a blender with a frozen banana, scoop of ice, scoop of peanut butter, and dash of vanilla… and sometimes a handful of spinach too.

I make my own protein shakes with powdered protein mix, almond milk, frozen fruits and veggies (trust me, frozen spinach is totally tasteless in a smoothie — really!) but this is an acceptable substitute when I’m feeling lazy. I’m trying to avoid whey protein, which somewhat limits your supplement choices.

For 7 gr net carbs, its just sweet enough for taste. I was surprised that it’s not gritty like pea protein shakes that I’ve had before. Tastes better chilled and helps me to control my Type 2 diabetes. Also meets my requirement of non-dairy and no aspartame. Will buy again.
