Making a full pot works great in our house hold as we all stay home now working from home situation, coffee temp is hot exactly the way we like, bold function works great. The single cup is not as great as our last 2 Keurig machines, you have to fill the reservoir each time you make coffee and have to make sure to pour exactly same amount of water that your finish coffee cup can handle, other wise it will overflow. Keurig was dying after about a year for us, so we thought to give this Hamilton Beach FlexBrew a chance, we are happy so far, hope this machine will last little longer than Keurig as we are not big fan to create land fills and junk.

My second Flexbrew. Dual capability suits us perfectly, and this unit is least cost. First one lasted 3.5 years. Negatives are hinge on carafe water reservoir broke (but still usable with manipulation), and finally it started leaking due to a broken clear flexible water line. Also burst most k-cups, but Folgers k-cups were ok which are what we used. The individual single screen allows you to brew non k-cup servings. The lettering on the control panel button wore off, but we had them memorized. New one is working well, and we expect another 3-4 years use while we brew a carafe every day and average 10 singles a week for coffee, tea, and cocoa. has best price, which makes this flexbrew much less than competitive dual coffee makers.

It did not arrive in a shipping box, it just came in its regular box. When we were doing the first cycle of just water (as instructed), water started leaking from the bottom of the left side. However, the right side (single serve) did work, and i loved everything about it. It was very easy to use and it’s a really pretty design. When brewing for 1 cup, the liquid dripped down smoothly not splashing everywhere, it does take longer than a keurig to brew. Also the keurig adapter and single reusable coffee filter are well built so they’d probably last. Finally having a traditional coffee maker side is just perfect. (Does not come with gold tone filter which you will need unless you use paper filters).

The competition (Cuisinart) established a low bar for me to give the FlexBrew a 5 star rating. To be honest my expectations of Hamilton Beach were pretty low but they’ve designed and manufactured a winner here. And, this unit was about half the cost of what I’d spent on a “higher end” machine. This coffee maker does exactly what it advertises and has the functionality I wanted: brew a pot, brew a single cup using a K Cup, or brew a single cup with ground coffee of my choosing. The holder for the grounds is superior to any other K Cup adapter I’ve yet encountered. It’s easy to swap in, swap out and clean. I couldn’t be more satisfied.

Works great! The k-cup side is a little louder than my old Keurig but it’s not bad. The only difference for the K-cup/Single side is that you have to measure and pour the exact amount of water in vs. the Keurig doing it for you. I’ve accidentally made my coffee too weak measuring the water myself but after 1-2 times, I know how much to pour now and it comes out perfect. The carafe side is fine, works just like any other regular coffee machine except you can select strong or regular brew but I always use regular so I can’t speak to the strong brew cycle. I just love that I have the option to use K-cups or a carafe with one machine.

I like this coffeemaker alot. I have had Keurig for several years and was ready for a change. In particular I like that you can choose either the single serve or the larger pot for multiple cups. Another plus is that you can wash all of the different pieces quite easily, they just pop out wash/rinse and put back in. Another pro is that the water reservoir holds only whatever amount you choose to make that time. No water sits in the machine to cause mineral deposits, so routine ‘descaling’ not needed. The only down size is that is a definitely a bit slower brewing. It’s not a big deal to me, but if you are often rushed it may be for you.
